Warnings and automatic punishments
Give warnings and let the bot time out, kick or ban members who collect too many.
How warnings work
A member gets a warning when a moderator uses /warn, or when an automod rule is set to Warn member or Delete and warn. Every warning is saved as a case with a number.
Warnings stay active until you remove them with /unwarn. Only active warnings count towards automatic punishments. Use /warnings to see a member's record and how many active warnings they have.
Automatic punishments
- 1Open Moderator in the dashboard and go to the Punishments tab.
- 2Click Add punishment under Automatic punishments.
- 3Pick after how many warnings (1 to 50) and what happens: Timeout, Kick or Ban.
- 4For Timeout, also pick the number of minutes (1 to 40320, which is up to 28 days).
- 5Click Save.
You can have up to 10 punishments. A punishment happens when the member reaches exactly that number of active warnings. With a timeout at 3 and a kick at 5, the member gets a timeout on their 3rd warning and is kicked on their 5th.
If two punishments use the same number of warnings, the harshest one is used. Automatic punishments only hit members who are still on the server.
/unwarn, the member counts up again from the new number.Immune roles
Members with one of your Immune roles are not affected by automod, mod commands or automatic punishments. The server owner and members with Administrator are always protected, even without an immune role.
Message to the member
With DM members when punished on, the member gets a private message with the server name and reason when they are warned, timed out, kicked or banned. For a temporary ban the length is included too. It is on by default.
The message is sent before the member is kicked or banned, so it still gets through. If the member has closed their DMs, the punishment happens anyway.
History
The History tab shows Recent cases on the server with case number, action, reason and time.
