YouTube videos

Follow a YouTube channel and get its new videos posted. Premieres are posted when they start. Live streams belong under Stream alerts.

1. 1Turn on the YouTube videos module and open it in the dashboard.
2. 2Enter the channel’s @handle or channel link.
3. 3Pick an Alert channel.
4. 4Optionally pick a Role to ping and your own text in Custom text (optional).
5. 5Click Follow channel.

Custom text can be up to 500 characters and can use {name} (the name), {title} (the post title) and {url} (link to the post).

• YouTube is checked at most every 5 minutes, and a bit less often when the bot follows many YouTube channels in total.
• The post contains the video link, so Discord shows its own player.
• If many new items show up at once, the bot posts at most 3 per check.

The commands need the Manage Server permission. Without channel: the channel you type in is used.

• A server can follow up to 30 channels.
• Each can only be followed once per server. To change its channel, ping or text, remove it and add it again.
• If one shows Failing, the last few checks failed in a row. Hover over it to see the error.
• The bot needs View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links in the channel.
• Pinging @everyone is not allowed.
