Design your welcome card
A picture the bot draws for every new member, with their avatar, text and your own background.
What is the welcome card?
The welcome card is a picture the bot draws when someone joins: the member's avatar, a heading and a subtitle on a background you choose. It can do things a normal embed cannot, like centred text and round images.
The card is sent with the welcome message. In a Text message it appears below the text. In an Embed it becomes the embed's large image, so Large, below the text cannot be picked at the same time. You can also send the card with the private message using Attach the welcome card.
Turn the card on
- 1Open Welcome & Goodbye and make sure the module and Welcome message are turned on.
- 2Turn on Welcome card below the message fields.
- 3Adjust the card. The preview is drawn by the bot with your own avatar and updates shortly after each change.
- 4Click Save and try it with Send test.
Text and font
- Card heading and Subtitle: up to 120 characters each. By default they say
{user.name} joined usandMember #{member_count}. - Placeholders on the card:
{user.name},{user.username},{server}and{member_count}. Click one to insert it into the heading. - Font: Poppins, DM Serif, Bebas Neue, Pacifico or Press Start (pixel).
- Layout: Centred (avatar on top, text below) or Avatar on the left (text beside it).
- Heading colour and Subtitle colour.
💡 Emojis in the text are drawn on the card too, both normal emojis and the server's own.
Background
- Colour: a single solid colour.
- Gradient: a blend between two colours.
- Image: click Upload image and pick a PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF. The picture is cropped to the card's shape (1100 x 500 pixels).
- Darken background (keeps text readable): puts 0 to 80% darkness over the background.
⚠️ If you choose Image without uploading one, you cannot save. Upload an image or pick a colour.
Avatar
- The member's avatar: turn it off if the card should only show text.
- Shape: Round, Rounded or Square.
- Border: colour and thickness from 0 to 16 pixels.
