Twitch, Kick and YouTube go-live alerts
Follow streamers on Twitch, Kick and YouTube and get a post when they go live, with your own text.
Follow a streamer in the dashboard
- 1Turn on the Stream alerts module and open it in the dashboard.
- 2Click New channel at the top.
- 3Pick the Platform: Twitch, Kick or YouTube.
- 4Under Streamer, type the name and pick the channel from the list. Twitch searches by name. On Kick type the channel name, and on YouTube the
@handleor a channel link. - 5Change the Message if you like, and pick Post in channel.
- 6Click Save & close.
The channel shows up under Followed channels, with a Live badge while they stream. The ⋮ menu next to it has Edit and Remove. With many, you can search the list.
- Update viewers and picture while live: the post gets a new viewer count and picture at least every 10 minutes while the stream runs.
- Delete the post when the stream ends: instead of turning into "was live", the post is deleted.
Custom text and placeholders
The message starts as "🔴 {name} is live on {platform}!" in the server’s language. You can change it, up to 500 characters, and use these placeholders, which you can also click in below the field:
{name}the streamer’s name{title}the stream title{game}the game or category (not on YouTube){url}link to the channel, and on YouTube to the stream itself{platform}Twitch, Kick or YouTube
The bot pings nobody, not even roles or @everyone written in the text.
While they are live, and when they stop
- The bot checks Twitch and Kick every minute, so the post arrives shortly after the stream starts.
- YouTube is checked every 2 minutes. YouTube limits how much the bot may ask per day, so when many YouTube channels are followed across all servers, checks are spread a little further apart.
/stream addtells you how often it is right now. - The post shows the title, game, viewer count, a picture from the stream and a Watch stream button. YouTube has no game, so that field is left out.
- If the streamer changes title or game, the post is updated. Viewers and picture are refreshed at least every 10 minutes.
- When the stream ends, the post turns into "name was live" with how long the stream lasted. The bot waits for two checks in a row without a stream, so a short drop does not count as the end.
- If the same stream comes back, the post is set back to live instead of being posted again.
