Events with sign-ups

Announce game nights and raids with sign-up buttons and a reminder before they start.

Create an event

Turn on the Events module and use /event create. Everyone on the server can create events.

  • title: what is happening (required).
  • time: start time as HH:MM, e.g. 21:00 (required).
  • date: date as DD/MM or DD/MM/YYYY. Without a date it is today, or tomorrow if the time has passed.
  • description: details.
  • channel: where to post it. Without it the server’s events channel is used, and if there is none, the channel you type in.
  • reminder: minutes before start to ping everyone who signed up. Default is 15, 0 turns it off, and the maximum is 1440.
💡 The time is read in the server’s timezone, which you pick under Settings in Bot timezone. Everyone then sees the start time in their own timezone.

Pick the events channel

Open Events in the dashboard, pick an Announcement channel and click Save. If you pick None (use the command channel), events are posted where the command is used. You can also use /event channel.

The bot needs View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links in the channel.

Sign-ups

The post shows when it is, the host and who has answered. Members answer with the Going, Maybe and Can’t buttons. Clicking your answer again removes it.

The buttons stop working once the event has started.

Reminder

When the reminder time comes, the bot replies to the post and pings everyone who answered Going or Maybe. If that time has already passed when you create the event, no reminder is sent.

Cancel an event

Use /event cancel. Only the host or someone with Manage Server can cancel. The post is struck through and marked CANCELLED, the buttons are removed and no reminder is sent.
